Lloyd Hilton Reyerson was born in Dawson, Minnesota in 1893. He earned his bachelor's degree from Carleton College (Northfield, MN) in 1915, his master's degree from the University of Illinois in 1917 and his Ph.D. from John Hopkins University in 1920. After serving as a second lieutenant in the chemical warfare unit during World War I, Dr. Reyerson joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota in 1919 as an instructor of chemistry.
